Nai Roshni is a Jharkhand-based NGO established on 2nd March 2001, working for the empowerment of street and working children through education, life-skills, and protection — with a special focus on the girl child. Over more than two decades, our work has grown to reach four districts of Jharkhand, and Nai Roshni has emerged as a credible, community-rooted organization built on a committed team.

A child is on the streets not by choice, but by compulsion. Push and pull factors — poverty, urbanization, an abusive environment, and unmet aspirations — drive their circumstances.
Children like these turn to labour on the streets of Jharkhand — the reality Nai Roshni was founded to change.

We are the catalysts.
Through education, recreational activities, counselling, and collective projects, children themselves develop an understanding of their rights and opportunities. Correspondingly, Nai Roshni acts as a channel to sensitize stakeholders and involve the entire community in our work.
